Curriculum
The Soccer Time Kids® classes are mixed sessions, comprising of both boys and girls (18 children maximum in a class) with ages ranging from one to five. Class volume is dependent on the size of the venue.
We offer three programs which are determined by age ensuring that children are with their peers and thereby gaining maximum development with their skills. The classes and programs are always about FUN and so the focus with our teaching activities are always developed with this in mind.
KOALAS: 1 to 2.5
These sessions concentrate on basic motor skill development using only the basic parts of the foot. To further develop the child’s learning experience coaches begin to incorporate various colours, shapes and numbers into the sessions games and activities.
*18 children per class with 2 coach depending on hall size.
EMUS: 2.5 to 3.5
Emus start to learn how to control and pass the soccer ball by using two different parts of the foot. In this group the children develop their gross motor skills through advanced skill work. We also place an emphasis on the parent and child relationship and coach and child relationship to build the child’s social skills, and we continue their education in the form of print recognition to further the child’s cognitive development.
*18 children per class with 2 coach depending on hall size.
JOEYS: 3.5 to 5
Joeys begin to learn match skills, such as directional movement- children are taught to control and pass the soccer ball whilst moving in different directions. In preparation for school, Joey sessions are structured to encourage children to work as a team with minimal parental participation.
*18 children per class with 2 coach depending on hall size.
Our Coaches
All Soccer Time Kids® coaches have an extensive knowledge of soccer and are trained to lead our classes by our fully qualified FA and/or FFA coaches. During our sessions whenever possible, our head coaches will be accompanied by our trainee coaches providing assistance and allowing some valuable one on one time with the children by either coach. In most instances venue and/or class sizes will determine the number of coaches per class. Our coaches receive extensive training on a weekly basis through management sessions in the form of supervised training by a qualified coach from the Soccer Time Kids® Management Program before running any location at Soccer Time Kids. All coaches will undergo frequent in house training. All coaches will have also undergone First Aid training and possess a Working with Children's Check.
There will be 18 children per class with 2 coaches and it is the intention that both coaches are to make personal contact with each student through direction and encouragement. For smaller groups there will be 1 coach per 12 children depending on hall size. Each session comprises of 45 minute lessons.
